Keeping a Gratitude Journal
As I have dealt with my diagnosis and symptoms of neuromuscular disease over the past few years, sometimes my emotions have given way to worry or despair. When I begin to despair, one of my most useful tools is prayer, often in the form of keeping a gratitude journal.

Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 Review
When I need to type, I have been using an ergonomic keyboard by Microsoft, called the Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000. This keyboard features a split keyboard design, with the two halves curved slightly. It also has a padded wrist rest. Using this keyboard does put less stress on my wrists.
Accessibility at Disney’s Magic Kingdom
Overall, Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom was accessible, and Guest Services was helpful. The Guest Assistance Pass helped me to reduce waiting in lines. The park did require a great deal of walking and standing, however, and my comfort would have been greatly increased had I used a wheelchair.

Resilience and Optimism
Research has shown that people can learn to be resilient, to face adversity well, as my father did after having a stroke. As I face of my own diagnosis of neuromuscular disease, I claim these qualities for myself.

Reflections of a Peacemaker: A Portrait Through Heartsongs contains 250 previously unpublished poems by Mattie Stepanek, including his final poem. Written between the ages 3 and 13, some of the poems were funny, some were sad, and all were insightful and heartbreakingly honest.
Free Informational Resources from the MDA
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) offers a variety of free resources about neuromuscular disease. Updated regularly, these resources cover a wide variety of topics related to neuromuscular disease. Many MDA publications are available in Spanish as well.
