Book Review – Macromedia Flash Professional 8 Beyond the Basics Hands-on Training by S Rebenschied
The author, Shane Rebenschied, takes a modular approach to Flash and ActionScript. When you have finished the book, you will have mastered some of the intermediate level Flash features.

Book Review - Creating A Web Site With Flash 8 - Visual QuickProject by David Morris
This book won't teach you everything about Adobe(R) Macromedia(R) Flash but it does teach you the basic techniques needed to create a website with Flash 8. David Morris uses easy instructions with large supporting screen shots.

Add A Drop Shadow To Your Flash Website
Add a drop shadow along the exterior edge of your Flash(R) website. An easy way to add a drop shadow to the Flash document is to use a background image that has a pseudo drop shadow.

Publishing Your Flash Website
Now that you have finished and tested your Flash(R) website, you are ready to publish to the web. However, you will need more than just the finished .swf file. You will also need some HTML files that work with this .swf file on the web.

Add The Loader and ProgressBar Components To Your Flash Website
Now that you have completed your Portfolio.swf movie, we can add the Loader component that will load the external Portfolio movie into your main movie and a ProgressBar component (also called a preloader).

Adding Navigation To Your Flash Portfolio
Add the navigation buttons to the portfolio movie that is part of the larger Flash website that we are creating. Once we import the button image and convert it to a symbol, we will be able to add the ActionScript that will make the buttons work.
