Archive by Date | Archive by Article Title Add Content For The Home Webpage Of Your Flash Website Now that we have positioned the keyframes for the webpages along the Timeline of your Flash website, we are ready to build the individual webpages by adding the images, text, buttons and etc. onto a new layer that we will call Content. We will add the specific content for the Home webpage. Section Your Webpages Along The Flash Timeline You should now have all the buttons in place in your navigational menu area. Now we will work on the Timeline of your Flash website. We will divide the Timeline into sections that will represent the webpages of your site. Import A Sound Clip Into Flash And Add It To A Flash Button In the last tutorial, you made the rollover buttons for the navigational menu of your site. Now we will import a sound clip into your Flash movie and have the sound play when the button is clicked. How to Make Buttons for a Flash Website From A Button Symbol In the last tutorial we created a button symbol template that we will now use as the starting point for making more buttons. Starting from this template, we will make the individual buttons for the pages of your site. How To Make A Flash Button If you have been following along in the series, you are now ready to create menu buttons for your Flash website. We will create a template button that we will later use as the foundation to create your rollover menu buttons. Introduction to Flash Symbols One way to keep the file size of your Flash website movie to a minimum is to convert the major and repeating elements of your website into Flash Symbols. Flash Symbols are reusable elements that are stored in the Flash Library. Letīs convert the background elements of your website into a symbol. Add Static Text to the Flash Stage So far you have set the dimensions of the stage and placed the image that will be the background for your navigational links at the top of the stage. Now you will add some static text to the bottom of the stage. Static text is text that does not change. This text will be the copyright information. Importing Your Navigational Menu Image into Your Flash Website Movie In this tutorial we will import the image you plan to use as the background image for the navigational menu of your Flash website. We will place it on top of the stage by using the Flash Import feature. Later we will create the menu buttons that will go on top of this background menu image. Starting a New Flash Movie and Setting Document Properties In this tutorial, we will begin creating your Flash website. We will start a new Flash document, also called a Flash movie, and set the document properties for this movie such as the width, height and background color. Preparing to Build Your Flash Website The Flash based website that we will create during this series can be used as an online portfolio or catalog for a professional artist or crafter. Besides a copy of Flash MX 2004, you will also need a few other things; mockup of site, images and color scheme.
