Haunted Eastern State Penitentiary
Opened in Philadelphia a few days before Halloween in 1829, this cold and daunting prison has been reported as haunted since the early 1940s when late-night workers “claimed to see odd things and hear strange voices.” Closed in 1969, and abandoned in 1971, the number of sightings has only increased.
Haunted Farnsworth House Inn
The Farnsworth House is a Gettysburg inn, and considered by many (including the Travel Channel) to be full of spirits. At one time, the house sheltered Confederate sharpshooters, and actually has more than 100 holes in the brick walls from Union soldiers.

Finn’s Food and Spirits at 214 North Main in historic downtown Hannibal. Missouri, is known by staff and guests to contain a multitude of spirits of many varieties.

Haunted Garden House Bed and Breakfast
In 2006, representatives from NBC’s Today Show contacted the Garden House Bed and Breakfast in Hannibal, Missouri, to film a documentary that October. After filming the segment, The Today Show listed the Garden House as one of the top ten places in America to sleep with a ghost.

One of the most fascinating activities that I enjoyed while living in the desert years ago was ghost town hunting. Wonderful treasures could be found. Sometimes even real ghosts could be seen in the towns that were often in the middle of nowhere and seemingly devoid of any type of souls.

Haunted Hawaii Plantation Village
Hawaii’s Plantation Village, located in Waipahu, is an outdoor museum of more than 25 restored buildings representing the history of Hawaii. There are reports by staff that half of the 25 buildings are haunted.
