Most of us have heard that December 21, 2012, winter solstice, is of particular significance to many. We also know that it has something to do with the fact that the Mayan calendar ends, or from another perspective, restarts, on that date. Why is that important?

Documented Possession in Watseka, Illinois
The Watseka Wonder is the fascinating story of two young girls who lived in Watseka, Illinois in the late 1800s. Mary Roff and Mary Lurancy Vennum didn’t know each other or form a connection until after Mary Roff’s death in 1865.
Some believe seeing one’s own, or a family member’s, doppelganger, is a portent of illness, bad luck, or even death.
On April 21, 1977, three teenagers were driving north on Farm Street, a road surrounded by woods and fields, in the Dover area. The driver, Bill Bartlett saw “a bizarre, unearthly-looking creature, close to four foot tall, crawling along a stone wall.”
Dyatlov Pass Incident
In early February of 1959, a group of ski hikers were found dead under mysterious circumstances in the northern Ural Mountains of Russia. The pass where the nine hikers were found has since been named after the leader of the group, Igor Dyatlov, and is currently called Dyatlov Pass.
