Fabric Jewelry
Fashioning jewelry out of fabric can produce a distinctive wearable art piece that is surprising, unconventional and unique.

Fabric Stablizers
Stabilizers are generally non-woven textiles placed inside or under fabric pieces during construction to provide support and stability to the garment when stitching, particulary during embroidery. Stabilizers are different than iron-on or sew-on interfacings which also provide fabric support.

Fabric Stenciling
Stenciled designs on fabric can be created by daubing on fabric paint, inks or dyes, even the power of the sun, applied to a stencil template. When the template is removed, the resulting precise image will be visible on the underlying surface. A wonderful fabric embellishment technique.

Fabric to Knit or Crochet
Fabric can be thought of as much more than flat yardage to cut and sew into clothing, accessories and items for the home. Fabric can be treated like yarn loomed, braided, knit or crocheted too.

Fall Prims to Sew
Prims are a form of folk art - handmade decorative crafts assembled from fabrics of muted gingham, plaids, natural linens, tea-colored muslin, and burlap. Often accented with weathered boards, punched tins, and tied with twine of jute or raffia - prim crafts suggest a nostalgia for times past.

Fat Quarters
Fat quarters are one-quarter yard fabric pieces of precisely sized cuts from a variety of coordinating fabrics. Not rectangular in size but more square-ish and wide, hence the name. A quilt makers' delight, however these precut fabric bundles are also very useful for small sewing projects.

Felted Wool Projects to Sew
Whether sewing by machine or by hand, felted wool is one of the easiest of fabrics to use for crafting as it does not fray or ravel and has enough body to mold or shape. For quick and easy last minute gift ideas consider making quick projects out of felted wool.

Festive Bunting and Garland
There are endless designs for bunting and garland that are quick and easy to sew and assemble from fabric scraps and add much to a celebratory occasion. Both are surprisingly quick to make and add a joyful accent to any decor.

Festive Fabric Wreaths
Purchased wreath frames of foam, straw or wire and decorated with fabric trims are easy to create and display. Using bits of leftover fabric and ribbon, trimmed with hand stitched ornaments or folded fabric flowers are charming to make and provide a seasonal or celebratory home decoration.

Forever Essential Sewing Basket
Even today, a fabric covered, handled sewing basket filled with colorful sewing notions and tools evokes a call to our own sewing muse.
