Fun Facts on Alaska II
More Fun Facts. Just that. Little tidbits of trivia to keep the mind active. And of course, a little dry humor helps.

Getting Around - Scenic Highways Series
What if you decide to visit Alaska and you want to experience the magnificence on your own schedule, and better yet, in your own vehicle (or a rented one)? How does one get around the great state? What type of roads are there, where do they go, and what can be seen along the way?

Gold in Alaska
Gold is the Alaska state mineral and there was a Gold Rush in Alaska, only the tales cannot seem to agree on when it happened exactly.

Historical Nome Fuel Delivery
History was made in Nome, Alaska in January 2012 and it had nothing to do with the Iditarod! Fuel was delivered by tanker, once it traversed over 300 miles of ice for the first time in history.

Iditarod Fun Facts
The Alaska Iditarod is full of history, competition, and dogs!

Iditarod-The Last Great Race
What exactly is the big deal about the Alaska Iditarod? Is it the purse that the winner takes home, the competitive sport of it, or that the mushers are just plain crazy? Personally, I think itís all of the above!

Juneau Alaska
Juneau Alaska is named for Joe Juneau. He and Dick Harris discovered gold in this area in 1880. After one year of being named Harrisburg, it was changed to Juneau when it was realized that it was not to be a fly by night town. Seems the lower 48 already had too many Harrisburgís!

Kate Shugak Series-Review
Book number 18 in the Kate Shugak series by author Dana Stabenow of Homer Alaska has been published. I read through all of the previous books to be ready for the release of "Restless in the Grave". This is a great series of books that are a lot of fun to read.

Kennel Tours in Alaska
Watching the Iditarod for the first time, I've become seriously enamoured with the dogs and their mushers. If your trip to Alaska allows some free reign, consider working one of these kennel tours or adventures into your itinerary.

Laughing at Alaska
Itís time for a little levity. Here are some fun jokes of, about, or close to Alaska.
