This registry tracks anyone who has lost 30 pounds or more, and kept it off for more than a year. The Myth of 270g Carb Days Occasionally a visitor writes in to inform me that all human beings should be eating exactly 270g of carbs every day to be healthy. Where does this absolute knowledge come from? The answer is that it's a myth. The McDonald's Diet Mark Austin ate only at a McDonald's restaurant for 30 days straight. He lost 14 pounds, went from 16% fat to 9%, and reduced his cholesterol from 234 to 147. This book explains how he did it. The Low-Carb Gourmet Cookbook If you´re on a low carb diet, you might think you´re stuck with burgers and veggies. Wrong! This gourmet cookbook lets you eat like a king and queen while losing weight. The Low-Carb Barbecue Book Dana Carpender has done it again with The Low-Carb Barbecue Book. I really have to say this is the book to have to create delicious, healthy summer foods! The Low Carb Bible The low carb bible is a large scale, hardcover book with a ton of information. It compares the various diets, explains why they work and offers practical recipes and tips. The Little Guides to Low-Carb This small format book provides over 150 delicious recipes and some gorgeous photos to get your mouth watering. I adore the recipes - but the long, skinny layout makes the book hard to read. The Healthy Carb Diabetes Cookbook The Healthy Carb Diabetes Cookbook is aimed at people who want to eat more healthily while explicitly avoiding high sugar and high starch meals. Many of these come down to being eating ideas rather than actual recipes. The French Don't Diet - Will Clower Dr. Will Clower explains in his book The French Don't Diet that the key to eating healthily is to incorporate it as your daily way of life. You don't go "on" a diet - you redo how eating and exercising are parts of your life. The First Two Weeks The Atkins diet calls this induction, and other low carb diets have other names for the first two weeks. In essence, this period is to get you used to your new lifestyle - emotionally, physically and psychologically.
