Mystery Movies Book Reviews - Introduction If you love to watch mystery movies, then maybe you enjoy reading books about them too. Books about mystery movie stars, books adapted for the big screen, or books based on original movies and dramas. Indulge yourself in all things mysterious. My Mother's Secret TV Movie Review In this television mystery movie of 2012, Lori is expecting her first child when she learns that she was adopted. In her search for her birth family, Lori finds danger, and the solution to an old mystery. Murder She Wrote One of the longest running television mystery crime series, Murder She Wrote captured the hearts of its audience for twelve seasons. Angela Lansbury plays the much loved retired teacher, novelist, and amateur sleuth Jessica Fletcher. Wherever she goes, murder is sure to follow. More Great Classic Mysteries The hallmark of a great classic mystery is that it can be watched again and again, and still enjoyed just as much as the first time. Here are some of my very favourite classic mysteries that are as good now as when they were made in the 1940s. Perhaps you love these movies too. Masterpiece Mystery Endeavour Anyone who enjoyed the Inspector Morse crime mysteries must have wondered what Morse was like as a young man. In this television mystery drama, we see the young Endeavour Morse work on his first major case among the dreaming spires of Oxford. Laura Starring beautiful Gene Tierney, this famous noir mystery thriller of 1944 is directed by Otto Preminger. It tells the story of murder victim Laura Hunt, the people she is close to, and the detective who must discover which of them is her killer. Joan Hickson as Miss Marple After her years of observing village life in St Mary Mead, Jane Marple knows human nature, including its dark side. Of all the actresses to have portrayed Agatha Christie’s much loved crime solving spinster, Joan Hickson is perhaps the quintessential Miss Marple. In and Out of Character Book Review Basil Rathbone’s autobiography is well written and entertaining, giving an interesting insight into the actor’s real life character. Hitchcock Movie Review As an admirer of the Master of Suspense I was eager to see the movie 'Hitchcock'. Released in 2012 this movie tells the story of a brief period in Alfred Hitchcock's life, his career and his marriage to his long suffering wife.
