A Sister's Prayer
Sacred Sister, rise gently with Grandfather Sun and give thanks to the Creator for the new day. Acknowledge yourself as a sacred creation of the Divine. Give thanks.

All Life Is Sacred; Treat All Beings With Respect
Our Traditional worldview was one based upon the acceptance that we are sacred beings placed upon a nurturing Mother planet, by an all-powerful and loving Creator. How can we use this traditional framework or philosophy to help us travel along the path of peace in the ego-dominated world of today?

All Life Is Sacred; Treat All Beings With Respect
The place to start with this Native Wisdom is with the self. Love for self is the key and the foundation for all other love that comes after. Beliefs have the power to set the course of action for our souls. Do you see yourself as sacred and treat yourself with respect?

Ancestral Suffering
Too many of us carry a burden of shame and worthlessness that has nothing to do with who we truly are. Just as an ancient hatred possesses the power to infiltrate generations, so too does the power of bondage. We connect ancient reactions to the soul wounds of today.

Apsaalooke Flag
Flags symbolize a nation or country and can be inspirational in design. The official flag of the Crow Tribal Nation is a fine example. The Apsaalooke flag has a sky blue background with the official Tribal seal in the center. The flag bears much symbolism and reveals a proud history.

Bald Eagle - Medicine of the Spirit
Upon the North American continent the bald eagle is a living legacy linked to the idea of spiritual illumination for many Indigenous cultures. The white feathers of the bald eagle are especially treasured as they are links to Grandmother Medicine- tremendous wisdom, healing, and creation.

Be Brave, Be Smart, Be Kind!
In Traditional Native America, our children are treasured as sacred beings. In ancient times it was our beloved Elders who nurtured and taught our littlest ones. Our children grew into balanced individuals in accordance with the laws and ways of nature and the Creator.

Beef Jerky Recipe
Living on the Great Plains and following the herds of buffalo made for the invention of dried meat. Traditionally, pemmican, or dried meat, was prepared from the lean meat of large game such as buffalo, elk, or deer. The meat was cut into thin slices and dried over a slow fire or in the hot sun.

Challenge Ancient Hatred
In and around Indian Country, discriminatory attitudes and behaviors still flourish and the time is past due to challenge these issues in order to protect future generations. Actions that demean any person or group cause irreparable damage. Here are some guidelines on how to make a difference.

Cherokee Proverb on Inner Turmoil
“Don’t let yesterday use up too much of today.” - Cherokee Proverb. The same can be said about tomorrow. Keeping our thoughts tied up regretting what happened yesterday or worrying about what might happen tomorrow does indeed use up too much of today.
