Hot, Hot, Hot!

Hello, and welcome back! I hope you´re all staying nice and cool and getting in lots of reading time. I´m getting caught up on my own reading, and after all the weeks of packing, moving and unpacking, it feels like nirvana.

First up this week is Nina Bangs´s latest, Pleasure Master
Pleasure Master
(Leisure Love Spell). Kathy Bartlett is having a rough Christmas season, from her ex´s lawsuit after she found him in bed with her friend, to the failure of her car along the highway on Christmas Eve when she´s on her way to deliver toys for needy children. When she wishes to be someplace warm with a biddable man, one of the toys springs to life and transports her--and her stash of toys and hairdressing supplies--to chilly Scotland and Ian Ross, the Pleasure Master, who is not the least bit cooperative. While I enjoyed much of the story, I really had a hard time buying into the fact that her cell phone still worked and all of the toys as well. Ian is one sexy Scotsman, and I have no doubt the Pleasure Master will bring just that to many readers if they can manage to get past the portions of the story that stretch the credibility to the breaking point. And aside from an epilogue that really didn´t add anything to the romance, I´m going to give this one three of Cupid´s five arrows, if only for Ian Ross.

The second book I read this week was the newly re-released version of Robin Schone´s Awaken, My Love
Awaken, My Love
(Kensington Brava). This edition has had some scenes replaced that the original publisher edited out, and the author is very pleased with this new version. Though it´s been a few years since I read the original. If you love erotic romance and haven´t tried Robin Schone before, run out now and buy this book. If you´ve already discovered Robin Schone, you still need to add this book to your collection. Another time travel (one of my favorite sub-genres of romance, you know), this time with Elaine Metcliffe being flung back in time to Victorian England and into another woman´s body, to another woman´s husband, Charles Mortimer, who´s much more interested in the ways of the flesh than Elaine´s own husband of seventeen years. But what a dilemna, to give in to the fantasy, or stay true to a marriage over in all except the legalities. Charles has his own plans on how to initiate his wife into the ways of pleasure, but is Elaine strong enough to resist? When I read the original two or three summers ago, I loved this story, and I love it no less now. This one earns four arrows.

If you haven´t noticed, there is now a link on my front page to sign up for our newsletter. It´s very simple, and I hope you´ll check it out.

Until next week, happy reading!
