Please note: The templates DO NOT INCLUDE THE ¼” SEAM ALLOWANCE. Cut out the required templates according to the instructions above and lay them out on the worksurface.
Step 1: Four units consisting of the CBBBC templates will be made first. To make one unit, sew two red B templates with a yellow B template between and then sew a blue C template to either side of the BBB unit. Repeat this three times to make the four units.
Step 2: Now create two side units as shown in the diagram above. Use a CBBBC unit and stitch two blue A templates and two yellow A templates to the CBBBC unit. Repeat the steps for the other side unit. Great, that’s the two sides completed.
Step 3: The centre block is easy to make by sewing four red B templates to four yellow B templates as shown in the diagram above.
Step 4: To finish the middle unit off, sew a CBBBC unit to top and bottom of the centre unit that has just been completed and then finally sew two blue A templates to each end of the middle unit. Next, stitch the previously made side uits to the middle unit as shown in the diagam below.
Your block should measure 12-1/2" on all sides. It will measure 12" finished size when it is sewn into a quilt.
