Romance for Valentine´s Day

Hello, and welcome back! I hope Cupid is good to all of you this week. And in anticipation of his special day, I´ve got three new romances to put you in the mood.

First up is Unbreak My Heart
Unbreak My Heart
by Teresa Hill (Onyx). Allie Bennett returns home for the first time in fifteen years after the death of her mother. Lots of painful memories are waiting for her, including the man who broke her heart, Stephen Whittaker. But he´s still keeping secrets that may have the same result again. Does she dare to trust him with her heart one more time? In true Teresa Hill style, this one is a tear-jerker, so have your tissues handy when you sit down to read this one. Allie is wonderful, and Stephen is that kind of dangerous hero you want to trust but don´t dare because you know things may not turn out the way you´d like. I´m giving this one four of Cupid´s five arrows.

Next up is Kathleen Kirkwood´s His Fair Lady: Lords of Danger
His Fair Lady: Lords of Danger
(Signet, Lords of Danger). After a long bout of fighting in the Crusades, Royce de Warren returns home and must attend to catching an heiress he´d mistakenly given to a peasant couple during the aftermath of a battle. Juliana Mandeville doesn´t believe him, but she has no memory of her life before. This pair has a long way to go before love has its way, and interfering relatives will stop at nothing to gain her inheritance. A rather long and winding tale, and Royce doesn´t seem very dangerous to me. This one earns only two arrows.

Finally, we have "Bewitched" by Heather Cullman (Signet, Lords of Danger). Michael Vane´s grandmother has given him an ultimatum: marry or return to an asylum where he was treated for his seizures which made him an outcast of high society. Emily Merriman suffers from a curse. Anyone she loves falls victim to dangerous happenings, and at this point, all she wants is a comfortable marriage to a man she doesn´t love. Michael is the lucky groom. Though I really liked parts of this one, there are more parts where I simply don´t like Michael, who is nasty to Emily in order to keep from being hurt, and he isn´t very dangerous either. I don´t think I´d qualify him as a Lord of Danger, however. This one earns three arrows.

Until next week, happy reading! And spend a wonderful Valentine´s Day with your sweetheart!
