Order of the Phoenix: Chapter 18

Chapter 18 Order of the Phoenix: Dumbledore's Army. Dobby finds a new place for the group to practice Defense against the Dark Arts.

Hermoine figures Umbridge has been reading Harry's mail to figure out about the group. Angelina is happy that her Quidditch team is OK to go, but now Hermoine isn't so sure about this Dark Arts group. Harry and Ron are amazed since this was her idea, but she points out that Sirius agreed with it, and since he's been very erratic recently, it means the idea might be very risky to appeal to him.

A very rainy Quidditch practice later, Harry talks to Ron and explains that his scar hurts when Voldemort is feeling strong emotions. That right now Voldemort is angry, and that the time with Umbridge Voldemort had been happy. Ron tells Harry to tell Dumbledore but Harry refuses to, saying Dumbledore already knows.

Back in the common room, Dobby brings Harry's owl back to him and says Winky is drinking lots - that the other house elves find Hermoine's constant clothing-pressuring very insulting. Harry asks Dobby where 28 kids can practice Defense against the Dark Arts and Dobby knows of the perfect place - the Room of Requirement. Harry remembers Dumbledore speaking of it at last year's Yule ball.

The next day they gather up the students and head up to the 7th floor. By the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy, Harry concentrates on the type of room he needs and voila, a door appears for him. Going inside, they find the *perfect* room for their practice needs.

They name themselves Dumbledore's Army, since this is the Ministry of Magic's worst fear, and begin practicing Expelliarmus. Neville actually does pretty well. Cho and Harry flirt a bit, and everyone is thrilled when it's time to head back to sleep.
