“… I read everything I could get my hands on to try to make some sense out of this diagnosis and keep this disease at bay while living a rich and full life…I believe in hard facts…not myths or half-truths or fads.” - Susan Gonzalez
She had several friends that were going through the battle at the same time, and they would swap stories of how they were each handling their “journeys”. Realizing the strength and advantages that are born from collaboration she decided to start the blog. The blog’s subtitle simply states that she offers “small changes for healthy living.”
From reading her article about soy products, Susan shows she is anything but simple. As consumers, I think we all get a little tired of hearing the typical “it’s good for you”, then "it’s bad for you” marketing of products. As a survivor, I want to know the truth about products, and I appreciate the fact that Susan digs deep to bring clarity to the confusion caused by misinformation that is put out through different sources. Admitting she doesn't "know it all", she welcomes opposing points of view, which is very refreshing.

Who is The Savvy Sister? - Susan’s Bio (a picture is worth a thousands words!)
Besides The Savvy Sister site, she also has another site called MOON-Organics. Here she offers 100% natural skin products. They are suitable for Vegans and are not tested on animals. She sent me some samples and they are terrific.
Your Softer Side – hand and body treatment; made with organic African shea butter and babassu oil with the gentle scent of lemon and lavender. (Editor's Note: The scent is light-my hands look like they’ve had a "face lift!")
Lip balm - 100% natural; soybean oil, sunflower oil, beeswax, hemp oil, avocado oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, Vitamin E oil, aloe vera, organic peppermint oil, organic spearmint oil. (Editor's Note: The mixed mints are a great scent blend, and it doesn’t feel waxy nor oily. I am a lip-conditioner fan, and this one is one of the best, truly. One other thing – this balm can be used under or over lipstick! Amazing – who ever heard of that?)
Other products include:
Satin Touch – 100% natural skin moisturizing oil; can be used before or after showering; organic olive oil, organic almond oil, organic coconut oil, macadamia nut oil, organic grapefruit seed extract, organic essential oil of grapefruit. Allergy warning: contains nut oil. No petroleum.
Eye Love This! – eye make-up remover; removes eye, lip and eyebrow cosmetics without damaging lids and prevents damage to lashes, minimizing lash loss. Organic combo penetrates the delicate skin around the eyes to soften and protect. 2 soft 100% “green” pads are included for gentle, non-irritating use.
Videos on the site give a brief overview of how to use the products. You will love how she reveals the truth between natural products, and products on the market made from petroleum! It's eye opening.
Susan allows her products to be independently tested before ever putting them on the market. What is equally impressive is the fact that with all of the work and quality that is put into the products, the prices are very reasonable. Anyone should be able to afford them, and if you know someone who can’t, be a Good Samaritan, and buy it for them!
Now living in the southern U.S.A., Susan Gonzalez is a native New Yorker, where she says she developed her “moxie”. She also is the mom of two teenagers.
