Ella has a loving mother who dies early in Ella Enchanted. Her father is indifferent to his only child. It is Mandy, the family cook, who befriends her.
Ella has a gift of learning languages and converses with many nonhuman characters. There are elves, gnomes, giants and even ogres. She talks to her parrot and unicorn.
Although, Ella has a curse, she has many adventures in the Ella Enchanted book while trying to have it removed. There are many humorous moments throughout the adventure book. Have you ever overheard ogres arguing among themselves about their human meal? Have you ever attended a giant’s wedding?
Ella is not your typical fairy tale girl. She thinks for herself. She does not wait for the arrival of the fairy godmother to save the day. She takes matters into her own two hands.
Ella Enchanted is a chapter book for tween and teen readers.. It is a fast-paced, adventure book. Get a copy and enjoy the Ella Enchanted book! Warning, you may read the fantasy book in one sitting.
I recommend reading Ella Enchanted. If you are interested in watching the children's movie, here is a link to get a VHS or DVD copy.
