Reminders
Without a doubt, there are more than two songs that remind me of my Grannio every time I hear them. Some make me smile, most make me cry... as I remember this special lady who was such a positive influence in my life.
My tears are for me - as I will always mourn my loss of this wonderful woman, who was my mom, my grandmother, my best friend and my most loyal, constant source of unconditional love and support.
Below are the lyrics to two of the tunes that make me think of my Grannio.
The first one is older and was actually released before she died last year - so I was able to share that song with her (by playing the CD and by writing the words down on paper - probably more than once - and presenting it to her with flowers when she was in the nursing home.)
The second one is newer and my Grannio never got to hear it - (and ironically it probably would not mean as much to me if it had come out prior to her death - Just read the lyrics or click on the "Listen to a Clip" link and you'll understand why...
