SPIN Selling



Spin Selling is a very popular strategy in the sales & marketing industry. It focuses less on high pressure sales tactics, and more on uncovering, exploring and solving the problems of your potential customers. I've touched on these ideas in Killer Customer Service & Solution Selling. If you've put these practices to work in your own business, you obviously know the positive results this brings.

In no particular order, some of the benefits (besides making more money) that using SPIN Selling techniques brings:

Customer service is one thing that bigger corporations have cut out of their budgets, when times got tough. The problem is customer service brings repeat customers - something that all businesses, from the solopreneur to the mega-corporation, need to survive.

To create repeat customers for yourself, you can use SPIN Selling strategies to make the sale & build relationships with your clients.

You don't want to be like the dreaded unethical "used car salesman" or the "fake internet mogul." You want to have a business that represents you, with all your good ethics and values present in the business. You want to do good by society, your community, and anyone who is important to you.

Approaching your business from the place of attraction, rather than repulsion, you want to draw people who desire the unique thing you have to offer. Do this by being positive with your business and your representation of it. "Be in business to help others, and others will help you be in business," says me!

While it may seem like a byproduct of good customer service, and to some point, you're right, it is - improving your relationship with your customers deserves it's own bullet point, here. Marketing is all about building relationships. These relationships tend to translate into people willing to give you money for being YOU and paying you for what you do best!
