Men: Some Assembly Required (LBk)
is quite an old book and the copy I reviewed was borrowed from the local library. Nonetheless, it's a fun, easy, humorous read from a Christian perspective.
Reading the book made me realize that being different (in my case, the total opposite) of my spouse wasn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it's normal and to be expected.
I found myself laughing out loud as I read the book. The tongue-in-cheek humor Chuck uses is absolutely delightful and makes the book a joy to read.
Chuck talks about how men and women view ex differently and he gives you real insight into how your man's mind works, especially the the thinking process behind his seemingly bizarre and strange behavior.
In Men: Some Assembly Required (LBk)
Chuck candidly shares the mistakes he made so that his listeners can learn from them and not repeat the same mistakes in their lives.
The communication differences between men and women are also very well explained and again Chuck's humorous style of writing will have you chuckling out loud.
Even though the book is written for women, men would benefit from reading it as well, because Chuck really understands a woman's emotional needs very well.
Here's a quote from the book on the communication differences between men and women that I'd like to share:
"The woman can come in from the marketplace (work) very tired, but within half an hour or so, she's ready to talk about her day. The man comes home tired, too, but grabs his newspaper or flips on the TV and never feels like talking, or at least he says he needs some space to recover from his day. Or maybe the woman is a homemaker and wants some adult talk after a day of 'Mama' and 'More ice cream, peez' "
I really enjoyed the book and I'm certain that if you read it you will too.
