Are Catholics really Christians?
Yes. In fact the Catholic (meaning universal) Church is the Christian pilgrim church on earth and the church that Jesus Christ himself founded.

Do Catholics consider other Christians Christian?
Yes. While we might not be completely unified and agree on certain doctrines, we acknowledge that other Christian churches have elements of truth. Since the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ himself, however, she has the fullness of faith. And we must always speak the truth in love.

What about other religions? Do non-Christians have any hope of salvation?
As Christians, we certainly believe that the only way to God is through his one and only son, Jesus Christ. Jesus teaches us that. And we, as Christians, are called to preach the Gospel. But it is impossible to know all the ways God works and how he touches the lives of all people. If someone hasn't been exposed to the Gospel, how can we truly believe that our loving, forgiving God would condemn her/him forever? How can we know if a non-Christian might experience Jesus and accept him at the very last moment of his/her life? God works in wonderful ways and we can't know the fate of every person. Only God knows that.

What about Mary? Why do Catholics worship her and the other Saints?
We don't. We ask Mary and the other Saints to intercede for us, to pray for us in much the same way we ask friends and family here on earth to pray for us. We are separated from those who've gone before us in death, but are united with them in Christ. We are all part of the Body of Christ. Mary and all the Saints are in heaven and actually are in a better position to pray for us.

What is RCIA?
RCIA is the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It is the process in which those who wish to enter the Catholic Church do so.

What about me? I've been away from the church for awhile and want to return. Is there anything for me?
Yes. There is a wonderful program, founded by Fr. Jac Campbell, called Landings that was developed especially for welcoming returning Catholics back home. The laity empowered welcome returning Catholics in an 8-10 week process.
