Before you start your candlemaking adventures, be
sure and familiarize yourself with some common candlemaking terms.
Pillar- refers to a free standing candle, which has been poured into a
mold.
Container candle- is a candle that's poured into a safe,heat resistant container, such as glass, tins, terra cotta and remains in the container for use.
Votive- votives are small(aproc 2-3" high) free standing candles, that
typically only burn for a few hours.
Taper- a taper is a tall thin candle, usually placed on a candlestick
holder to burn. The traditional type are supported by the wick and hand dipped
several times, each time adding a layer of wax.
