Trigun 19: Hang Fire

This episode begins with Meryl dreaming and remembering the laser-blast that damaged the moon. She's back at the main office and is brought in to talk to the Chief. She and Millie are sent off to Little Jersey to handle Vash.

A car driver finds Wolfwood and Vash lying on the side of the road. Apparently Wolfwood's motorcycle has broken down. The two fight until the car driver threatens to throw them out.

Millie and Meryl head up to New Jersey - and find that Vash is headed to New Oregon. A group of bounty hunters also decides to head up there to get Vash. In New Oregon, everybody is boarding up their windows, worried about the incoming typhoon - the real wind type.

Vash and Wormwood discuss the situation over lunch, and the cat helps Vash with his meal. Vash then goes in to see Max-Simon. Meanwhile the train that Millie and Meryl are riding on gets held up. The kidnappers are going for revenge about a satellite war.

They crash the train into the town. The Friese family has grabbed one of the enemy families and wants control of the satellite. Vash comes in to try to settle things down. He's now in a plain white shirt and black pants. He dodges a rocket and then goes in to punch up the kidnappers. But the one remaining guy says that he will kill the hostage because the hostage killed his daughter. Vash says that we aren't God and cannot kill because we want to. The kidnapper talks about how Eileen needs to be avenged. Vash tries to step in and gets beaten up. In a long drawn out scene Vash pleads for the killer's life.

Wolfwood says goodbye to a beat-up Vash, while Millie and Meryl sit to console him. Next a strange hatted man sucks the evil Friese family leader - in pieces like a toy - back into a briefcase.
