The Glammers Review

A Scottish alternative rock band? Yes please. The Glammers are a unique and animated rock trio who create catchy music with upbeat tempos. If you’re looking for a band with great songs to hum for hours after hearing, then look no further because The Glammers are precisely that band.

Formed in Edinburg, Scotland in 2006, the band members include SYD Glammer, SHE Glammer, and REX Glammer. A year after debuting as a rock trio, they released their first single titled Messensheriff. This song’s success quickly took off and became a featured song on Myspace; kicking off the band’s musical stardom and fan base.

The Glammers released their debut full-length, self-titled album on June 26th, 2012. This twelve song record showcases the band’s musical passion, upbeat tempos, catchy lyrics and memorable tunes. My favourite factor of The Glammers’ sound is their relatable songs that are easy to listen to, as well as being multi-genre friendly. I have shown The Glammers’ music to a few different people with a wide variety of musical tastes and they all agreed that their music was enjoyable and catchy – a rare find for a band in much of today’s musical fan base as there is such a widespread amount of genres, and personal likes and dislikes.

As one of the first indie rock trios to go fully animated, The Glammers’ videos are made up of animated characters instead of their own live, personal videos. After receiving an overwhelming amount of praise from all over the world, the band sticks to their unique and quirky aspect that makes them stand out from the crowd.

As they make their way into the European indie scene, The Glammers are becoming more and more recognized and successful. By playing small gigs and announcing the release of their debut album, The Glammers should begin preparing for stardom and fame because I think they’ve got what it takes to stand out and be heard in this sea of musical lookalikes.
