My partner is golf crazy …. and as many of us know, it you’re not into chasing a small white ball across endless greens, togetherness becomes a thing of the past.
So when I was sent a spaball massage caddy, complete with golf ball, it was the answer to turning his passion for golf to my advantage.
Costing less that $15, this innovative concept turns an ordinary golf ball into a sexy – and relaxing, massager. Designed to cup over an ordinary golf ball, the convex ‘dome’ fits snugly into the palm of your hand. Consequently, the ball becomes easy to manipulate over sore muscles, knead into trigger points, and stroke over large muscle groups with the massage oil whisking the ball off into the air.
In fact, when I tried it out on ‘Mr. Golf’, the caddy allowed me to push the ball deeply into his muscles that my untrained fingers simply don't have the strength to maintain. The golf ball massage solicited a fair number of appreciative (I think), oohs and aaahs!
From a therapists point of view, I can certainly see how the caddy saves their fingers from all manner of wear and tear.
While I was sitting on a nine-hour flight to Europe, I used it over my trousers and wow, what a difference. I normally get up every hour or so to stretch, but because I had a window seat, and my neighbors were sleepers, the golf caddy turned out to be a good alternative to prowling the aisles.
You can even get a caddy holder to sling over your back for self massage but being frugal in nature, I used a long sock instead, popped the golf ball inside, leaned up against a wall and moved about to take full advantage of the ball’s ability to get to those nasty, impossible to get to, knots. Such a simple concept, I can’t believe I hadn’t tried this before
I’ve since learned that this SpaKaddy is quite the talk of the spa industry, in part because it was designed by a licensed massage therapist, and in part because of its price and simplicity.
MY LAST WORD
As for Mr. Golf? Well, let’s just say that I’ve brought golfing into the bedroom!
