The Sideline Organizer is another great asset for coaches. It has the ablility to show plays and drills in animated views or in still views. It is a bit more complicated than some software that I have seen but it also has more features than some of the others do.
You can get the Sideline Organizer Standard for free. (This edition can be upgraded). It allows the user to store and organize drills, plays and ideas. Plays and diagrams can be drawn up easily and illusttrated quickly (once you get the hang of it) and these plays can then be animated. This allows the user to actually see a play in motion and is great as a visual training tool and for creating new plays.
The Sideline Organizer comes with a calendar that can be used to schedule practices and plans ahead of time which can save a lot of time for coaches and players.
The user can also import images and create lessons and icons from your own games with your own style of language useage and interpretations.
Sideline Organizer also has a good foundation of online help available (which is definitely great for anyone who has not used this before). There is also an online community for personal help in case you can't find the answers you need or just want to share ideas with others who are using the same program.
Try this free version and leave some feedback in the Basketball forum. I would love to hear what your opinion is on this.
The Free Organizer is available here. Sideline Sports If you decide to upgrade to the Pro edition, it gives you more options such as being able to export your creations, schedules, etc., through email and also aloows the use of video input and video editing. This is an excellent tool for post game training.
The Pro edition also has statistical analysis abilities which certainly can help in immediately checking percentages and identifying problem areas.
See you on the court!
