Lucy Cousins’ Maisy and friends return in Maisy’s Pirate Treasure Hunt. It is a pirate story for kids between ages four and eight-years-old. Twelve pages of clues help the friends search an island.
Colorful Maisy and friends hunt for buried treasure. Captain Maisy and maties have a treasure map. In the oversized board book, they search high and low. There are forty flaps under which children can look with Maisy. All sorts of things are hidden under the flaps.
Maisy’s Pirate Treasure Hunt's text is in rhyme. The pictures and text keep the crew searching the island for the booty. They must find three keys. Instructions tell them to look in the sand, in the mango trees and underneath the sea. After the treasure chest is found, Maisy and friends have a beach party cookout. On the last page, there is a wheel. Turn the wheel and see common items in the night sky: stars, bats and fireworks.
The Lift-the-Flap book works as a bedtime story and as a school room circle book. Kids love looking under the flaps. It makes them feel as if they are searching for treasure with Maisy. Children enjoy having fun with Maisy. Maisy’s Pirate Treasure Hunt by Lucy Cousins introduces children to pirate story terms.
Children need a regular routine. A set bedtime and place to sleep are part of the daily routine. Read a bedtime story as part of the nightly ritual. Read quiet, soothing books to children in their warm, comfortable bed. This allows a child to associate reading with comfort and security. The association will continue a lifetime.
