Government Agencies

Our reference desk taks a look at a great government website that can help you in your quest for information.

Many times people need to contact various government agencies, but aren't sure which is the right agency, or where to start. Amazingly, the US federal government has developed a webpage to help you. You can find it at Firstgov.gov.

It's designed with easy to use tabs that will help you define your needs. Is it a private citizen need? A non-profit organization looking for information? Or, perhaps another governmental agency looking to find where to direct someone?

Additionally, there are directories for federal, state, local, and tribal governments. You can find data and statistics on a wide variety of topics. There are job links and links for students wanting to learn more about how our government works. Does your child need to do a current event review? Click on the news section and find issues being decided by the legislature.

Kudos to a job well done. This site is an excellent gift to the American people, by the American people.
