
The Ruddy Turnstone is just under 10" long and has a very pointed bill that is dark in color. This can help you distinguish the ruddy from other similar shorebirds. It has orange feet, brown feathers, breast and head.
In breeding season the ruddy looks MUCH different - it has a black breast with bright brown wings.
