Miracles, defined as extraordinary events manifesting divine intervention in human affairs by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, are the phenomenon that fabricates the foundation of human faith.

Are miracles real? Or are they simply illusions and coincidences that some desperately cling on as the proofs of their faith with a higher power as many atheists would argue. This is a profound question that could not be explained by modern science.

Human existence can sometimes be filled with hardships and painful lessons. However, all of us have experienced many unexpected blessings along the way. In these blessings, we are allowed to experience great hopes and perhaps the divine force in our lives so we can move forward again regardless of our current difficulties.

For example, a man who had lost his family, possessions, employment…etc. and all that he had treasured once so much in his life was helped unexpectedly by the generous gestures of many with whom he was not even acquainted. In his greatest despair, a wonderful career opportunity opened up, a safe living environment was found, and many new friends all of a sudden came into his life to provide him strength and encouragement that he needed so much to build his new life. All of this happened not in a few months or years of time, it happened in a matter of two weeks. Were they simply many delightful coincidences? Or was this a proof of miracles. I like to believe the latter.

If we take serious inventories of our lives, we cannot help but find many unexpected blessings along the way. Most of them came unplanned. However, if we look back, all of them came and assisted us just at the right time.

Human existence has marked with genius inventions, amazing productions, and beautiful, artistic expressions. However, one can hardly deny that beyond all the wonders and accomplishments of the human species, there is a higher power who’s intervention in our affairs has brought all of us miraculous growth.

Regardless of your belief on the phenomenon of miracles, this word brings tremendous hope. Hope is the fuel of human existence, and the fuel that allows us to move forward, one step at a time, despite our current circumstances.

History has proven that after centuries of hardships, human kind never gives up hope. With hope, we march forward with our responsibilities and hard work. Perhaps when we turn around next time during the time of our suffering, a delightful miracle is waiting around the corner for our discovery.
