Eastern Phoebe Photos and Information

The Eastern Phoebe - Sayornis phoebe - is common across the eastern half of the US, and up into Canada. It is occasionally spotted in western US. It is around 7" long, and is found in wooded areas and also near water.

This bird is a birdwatcher´s delight because they love choosing open perches - out on posts, or easily-seen branches. Their tail does a distinctive up-down movement. Their song is a pair of whistles, seeerrridip! - Seeebrrrrrr.
