To keep your hair looking its best everyday throughout the year, it is best to schedule your hairdresser appointments in advance. You may be surprised to learn that you can often schedule your appointments for the entire year in advance. This assures you of getting the time and day that is convenient for you and eliminates the frustration of a style or hair color that is overgrown. If you do schedule that far in advance - or even five weeks - be sure to write your appointments on your calendar. Don't 'stand-up' your hairdresser.

- Long Hair
The ends of long hair should be trimmed at least every 10 weeks - more often if you use hot styling equipment, hair color or permanent waves. - Medium length Hair
To maintain a style, you should have medium length hair trimmed about every 6 weeks. After six weeks, the weight of the hair will pull out the shape of the style and the ends will need trimmed to be fresh.
- Short Hair
A short hair style should be trimmed every 3 to 4 weeks unless your hair is very slow growing. One half inch of new growth can change the look of a short hair style. - Schedule your hair color appointments
- All over color
Your retouch appointments should be every 4 to 6 weeks - Highlights
Your appointments should be at least every 12 weeks although scheduling every 8 – 10 weeks will keep your color looking fresher. - Permanent wave appointments
Any permanent wave with curl should be refreshed at least every 12 weeks, 10 weeks is better. Your hair grows approximately ½ inch per month. At the end of 12 weeks you will have 1 and ½ inches of straight hair at the scalp. This can make styling your hair very difficult.
If your perm is a very soft, loose curl, you may want to schedule a new perm every 8-10 weeks.
