San Diego is a beautiful city. Whether you are a native or planning to visit in the future, there are so many things that you can do in the area…best of all…they are free! Here are a few ideas on stuff to do the next time you are in San Diego, California.

*Visit the beach. San Diego has many beaches that are totally free to visit. You can choose from Blacks Beach, Mission Bay Beaches, La Jolla Cove, Pacific Beach, La Jolla Shores and many more. Each one of these beaches has its own unique flair. There is even a beach named Children’s Pool. It is a small beach that is partially protected by a seawall.

*Go to Mission Bay Park. Mission Bay Park is a one-stop shop for entertainment. There is dog walking, camping, fishing and more. There are also a few playgrounds for children so the entire family can enjoy a day at the park. You may stop by on a day where there is a professional volleyball tournament that you can watch at no charge.

*Check out the free concerts at Mission Trails. Every 3rd Sunday of the month, you can catch a free concert at the Visitor & Interpretive Center theater or amphitheater at Mission Trails. This concert series is offered at no charge, year-round. Mission Trails Regional Park also offers wildlife tracking walks and nature walks at no charge. Grab some long pants and get ready to track some wildlife!

Also, you can enjoy a free concert at La Jolla Cove for free every Sunday afternoon in the summer. Concerts run through Labor Day.

*Enjoy a bonfire with your family and friends. Coronado, Ocean Beach, Oceanside, Mission Beach and Pacific Beach are all bonfire-friendly. You and your family and friends can grab a blanket and tell spooky stories around the bonfire…at no charge!

*Take a stroll through Balboa Park. Admittance is free to the park grounds, Botanical Building, outdoor gardens, and some attractions. When you arrive, you can grab a free copy of the Balboa Park Family Activity Guide at the Visitors Center.

*Get your beer on! The Stone Brewing Company offers free tours of the brewery. Arrive early because the public tours are limited to 25 people. You must also check in and obtain a pass for the tour. The pass is free and you can pick one up at the Stone Company Store up to two hours in advance of each tour. The Stone Brewing Company is located in Escondido.
