Cassowary - Bird Photos from Australia

The first photo from Jeremy's collection of Australian bird photos is of the cassowary. This is a large bird that is endangered.

Cassowarys are interesting because it is the male that raises the eggs. The female lays a clutch of 3-5 eggs that are robin blue in color, and then wanders off to find a new male to mate with.

There are only around 1,500 cassowarys remaining in the wild.
