Newman's Own Ranch Dressing

Newman's Own Ranch Dressing is a tasty, healthy topping to your salads. It also supports charity projects! A nice win-win for your health and the world.

A serving of 2 tablespoons has 150 calories, 2g of carbs, 0g of protein, 10mg of cholesterol, and 310mg of sodium. There are no trans fats. It's primary ingredients are soybean / canola oil, water, buttermilk, and vinegar.

The story with the Newman products is that they were created by Paul Newman as a way to relax and enjoy life after he retired from the movie industry. All of his products donate their profits to charities and at this point have donated over $300 million. That's a great company to support!

The dressing tastes lovely, a nice, gentle complement to the crispiness of the salad. The spices are light. If you're a fan of ranch dressings, it's likely that you'll enjoy this one.

When it comes to salad dressings, my point of view is that you should go with whatever dressing encourages you to eat salads and love them. I wouldn't stress to much about getting exactly the perfect salad dressing for health reasons. You're already eating a ton of veggies and healthy items in the salad, and you want to enjoy that as much as possible. I say to go with whatever salad dressing you adore.

But with that being said, I do also think it's worth it to try a variety of salad dressings in your favorite area to see which ones are low on preservatives. The Newman dressing doesn't say in gigantic letters that it's all natural, but they state it quietly down in the ingredient list, along with their recognizable items such as garlic, onion, and chives.

So you get the natural ingredients here, and you know that your purchase money is going for a very good cause. You help maintain your own health, getting fresh nutrients into you. The salad dressing seems to be a win-win-win situation which is fairly rare in this world!

Are there any down sides here? It could cost a little more than the bargain-basement ranch options, but you'll know that money goes to charity and that your health will be taken care of. That sounds good to me!
