As I started this article, I was thinking of going with a different way but ended up bringing in excerpts of scripture from the Bible so I thought; ďOk, go with itĒ so I am. I want you to be able to think for yourself and go with your own feelings on this topic but I will give you what I have found out to help you decide for yourself and not be intimidated by what others think.
There were several scriptures that I found but these two stood out the most to me. Acts 8: 9-13 and Acts 17: 16-34. Here we have Paul visiting Athens and going to the supermarket of faith. Luke states that Paul felt uncomfortable but then states that Paul says God is here through the altar to the unknown God which is Pagan sources.
Next in my research there are many preachers, pastors, priest using the tarot during their sermons. Evangelism using tarot cards in their preachingís. Stained glassed windows in churches are referenced to being big tarot cards and I thought about this as I remember a time I went to a friendís church and asked a few people what they thought of those pictures and they all gave me basically the same meaning but what the picture meant to them and how the pictures related to them were all different just the same as tarot cards.
Australian Baptist using tarot to explore Christian faith. I want to add something here that I have found which really caught my attention; three men, living in different places but all using the tarot to share the gospel at psychic fairs and other places. One of the men states that the Fool card in tarot has been described as a prince of the other world on his travels through this one, bearing gifts for those he meets and yet rejected and unrecognized by those on whose behalf he loses his life. The Fool is compared to Jesus; he brings eternal gifts, dies for others and comes from above. The tarot points out that the Fool is all powerful who comes in foolishness and weakness, yet bringing salvation. The Bible stories featured on the cards do literally deal with all of lifeís big questions.
Tarot cards help those whom seek out answers on situations they are facing at the moment or guidance to situations that may arise. How you perceive the cards is alright for you, but pushing your beliefs onto someone else is harming and in any religion that is unacceptable.
Tarot cards in themselves are not evil, part of the Dark Arts or anything in that nature. It is up to the individual to use them the way they think is best. For the most part, the tarot is used for helping; giving insight when someone canít see it lying in front of them. Counselors and psychiatrists are using them to help further treatments on their patients; looking to the tarot to see hidden issues that their patients canít see bringing light to their problems. The tarot is all about helping people.
