Shamrock Motif - seed beads

A couple years ago, I posted a little beaded shamrock project. This one is similar, but a bit larger. Perfect for pinning on for a spot of green on Saint Patrick's Day or for earrings.

The instructions seem long and complicated because it's a netted pattern. Just follow the diagrams and text, it takes longer to explain then it does to make these.
You will need:
Japanese size 11 seed beads
Beading needle
beading thread
scissors

Japanese seed beads are essential for this project because there are lots of thread passes through some of the beads. I'm writing this pattern in rounds like crochet patterns are written because I find it's easier to keep track that way.

Start by threading on 4 beads, tie into a circle leaving a tail to weave in.

Round 2: Add 1 bead between each bead on the first round, go back through the first bead added.

Round 3: Add 3 beads, skip to the next bead from the second round, repeat around. Pass needle and thread through the first 2 beads of this round.

Round 4: Add 5 beads, skip to middle bead of the 3 bead loop from the previous round, go through that bead, repeat around. Pass needle and thread through the first bead added.

Round 5: Add 3 beads, skip bead on the previous round, go through next bead, add 3 beads, skip bead from the previous round and go through the next 5 beads (check diagram if you're confused), add 9 beads, go through the second to the last bead added, add 3 beads, skip 3 beads and go through the next bead, add 3 beads and go through the bead you started the stem from the opposite side that you started the stem from, go through next 4 beads, add 3 beads, skip 1 from the previous round, go through the next bead, add 3 beads, skip bead, go through the next 3 beads, add 3 beads, skip bead, go through the next bead, add 3 beads, skip bead, go through the next 3 beads, pass the needle and thread through to the 2 bead of this round.

Round 6: Add 5 beads, skip 3, go through the next bead, pass the needle and thread through the next 12 beads skipping the stem, following the diagram. add 5 beads, skip 3, go through the next 7 beads, add 5 beads, skip 3, go through the next 7 beads.

Round 7: Add 7 beads, go through the middle bead of 5 bead loop from previous round, add 7 beads, skip 2, go through the next 13 beads skipping the stem, add 7 beads, go through middle bead of 5 bead loop, add 7 beads, skip 2 beads and go through the next 7 beads, add 7 beads, go through middle bead of 5 bead loop, add 7 beads, skip 2, go through the next 5 beads. Weave in ends.

If the text seems confusing, check the diagrams.
You can attach the shamrock to various findings by adding a bead loop or a jump ring or just gluing it to something.
