This time out, I have Primal Bonds (Berkley, purchased) by Jennifer Ashley, second in her 'Shifters Unbound' series. Sean Morrissey is Guardian for his feline shifter clan, but when Andrea Gray, half-wolf shifter, arrives in town, he knows she is his. Convincing her and the others in town may take a little longer, especially when it turns out her other half is Fae, and the Fae in her family may be out to cause trouble. Yet she finds herself Claimed anyway, for convenience, though the scorching attraction she shares with her new mate is far from convenient and equally irresistible. Sean is one sexy shifter, from page one, and you just know there is absolutely no way Andrea can resist him. No red-blooded woman would be able to, and most wouldn't even try. I am glad to see this series found a new publisher after Dorchester's implosion last year left many authors on the hunt for new homes. I'm not ordinarily a Jennifer Ashley fan, but this series has been an exception for me. It may be the shifter world she's created, with its sexy heroes and strong heroines. Honestly, I like her characters so much better in these books than in anything else I've read by her. Sean comes very close to being a perfect hero, which makes this an even better read. The romance between him and Andrea is sexy and sweet and emotional, and the story is even more enjoyable since we get to revisit characters we met in the previous installment in the series. I hope to see more in this series in the coming years. I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for this story.
Until next time, happy reading!
