Deadly Lies

Hello, and welcome back! I’ve started digging into my tall stack of April romance releases, as it’s not quite time for me to start digging into the flower beds yet, despite the new green sprouts I see in them every day.

This time out, I have the last of the March romances, Deadly Lies (Grand Central, received from publisher) by Cynthia Eden, latest in her F.B.I. series. Special Agent Samantha Kennedy hasn’t recovered from her kidnapping by a serial killer, but she pretends she has, doing her job to the best of her ability. And, to stave off the nightmares, she picks up Max Ridgeway for one wild, sexy night. But Max would like more than one night with his mystery woman, and even for Samantha, one night isn’t really enough. But Samantha is on the trail of a new criminal, one who doesn’t stop at kidnapping, but who goes that final step to murder. And Max’s brother goes missing, putting this pair on a collision course for major difficulties in their budding relationship. Max is sexy, smart, and determined to get what he wants, and what he wants is Sam. Even her investigation into what happened to his brother and what is still happening to others won’t get in his way, though she is in a great deal of danger. Sam is just as smart, and determined to hide her vulnerability, while still unable to deny her feelings for Max. I enjoy Eden’s romances, whether they’re paranormals or romantic suspense, because her heroes are to- die-for. This series doesn’t have the same level of humor as her paranormal series, but that’s okay, because these have a whole different appeal, with their more realistic settings and the same sort of sexy heroes. I hope this series continues for a very, very long time. I’m borrowing four of Cupid’s five arrows for this one.

Until next time, happy reading!
