A forum is a meeting place to exchange views, thoughts, opinions about a certain issue. Bellaonline provides forums for all topics on the website. Belly dancing is no exception and it is easy to become a member of the forum.
The belly dance forum at Bellaonline is so interesting. To read the postings of different people just shows how we all differ in one particular area of belly dance. At the same time, there are several members that agree on a specific issue. There is never a dull moment.
To become a member, the reader should click to the bellydancing site and at the right of the page is a light bulb that has "Forum" underneath it. The reader clicks on the icon and then proceeds to the login at the top of the page. It will show the user name and the password. If the person is not registered, then there is a section for new members.
I highly recommend creating a user name that is different from the person's real name. This is more for safety than anything. Also, readers shouldn't want to reveal their real names should the discussion take a turn for the worse. I have read some forums where there were disagreements and there were postings of name calling and put downs. I don't want that in the belly dance forum.
So that brings up another topic when posting on the forum. Please be polite and remember, no one really knows the tone of the message. A posting is nothing more than typed words. Try to remember that there is no tone behind it, so don't assume the member is being rude or sarcastic. Should the member clearly post something rude and profane, please notify me.
The posting has to relate to belly dance. Nothing should be posted about politics or dogs for sale. However, if there is a music CD that although is not a common belly dance CD, and the music on the CD could be used for belly dance, then by all means the name of the CD should be posted on the forum.
Don't be shy. If you are new to belly dance and have lots of questions, you will be surprised of all the great support, suggestions and help you can get from the dancers in the community. There are postings from women who are new to the dance and the responses I have seen are wonderful.
Right now I looked over the posting "belly dance as an exercise". The member started off with a question and the responses were that to burn calories, aerobics or another form of exercise would burn more calories. What is your opinion and thoughts? Visit the forum and become part of the belly dance community.
