The Welcome Home Garden Club

Hello, and welcome back! Spring is getting very pretty here now, with all the lovely flowers blooming everywhere, and just in time for Mother's Day. I've still got a few April romances here to share with you before I can start posting the May reviews. And there are still more April romances listed over in the forum, in case you haven't stopped by there lately.

This time out, I have the newest installment in Lori Wilde's 'Twilight, Texas' series, The Welcome Home Garden Club (Avon, received from publisher). Caitlyn Marsh's high school love is long gone, chased away by both of their fathers, and then he died while serving in the military. All she has left of him is her son. Until he comes home. His father wanted nothing to do with him while Gideon Garza was growing up, but now that his father has died, his ranch belongs to Gideon instead of his two half-brothers, and they're not very happy about it. Gideon had no idea he and Caitlyn had a son, and he's determined to be the father that his own wasn't, but opening his heart to Caitlyn again proves more problematic: Gideon is more than battle-scarred from his time at war, and he can't believe that she would be able to accept him as-is. But when they get the chance to work together on a victory garden for a contest, the time they spend together reminds them both of what they once had. And makes them wish they could have it again, and more. Gideon may have come home wounded, but he is still one sexy hero, thinking first of his son and Caitlyn rather than of what he wants. Caitlyn just wants him back, and if she has to work to persuade him, well, that will only make the results that much sweeter. There's a little intrigue along the way, though most readers paying attention will know exactly who's to blame. The main focus, and the absolutely best part of the story, though, is the sweet and hot romance between Caitlyn and Gideon. Spectacular. I'm borrowing all five of Cupid's arrows for this one. It's a real keeper, tears and laughter and all. This series has been fantastic, and I hope Ms. Wilde continues it.

Until next time, happy reading!
