Imagine ... sinking into a bath tub filled with warm water and bath salts of your favorite scent. How about what happens once you exit the tub ... is your body worthy of a silky soft body oil that soothes and smooths your skin so that it feels as soft as a baby’s bottom?
What if you could make these beautiful products and have them when ever you wanted them?
Well you can! Here’s what a Bath Salt recipe might look like:
1 cup of sea salt
3/4 cup of epsom salt
1/4 cup of baking soda ( to soften your skin)
1 teaspoon of your favorite scented oil blend
To package your bath salt creation, a thick plastic bag with a beautiful ribbon or a glass decanter would be perfect.
In order to moisturize your beautiful skin, a sweet smelling body oil is the perfect finishing touch.
I like using essential oils for my body oils so here’s a great recipe for you:
1/2 cup of jojoba oil
1/4 cup of sweet almond oil
1/4 cup of apricot oil
10 drops of orange essential oil
8 drops of tangerine oil
5 drops bergamot oil
5 drops lavender oil
Blend the jojoba, sweet almond and apricot oils together. Put them in a plastic or glass bottle. I prefer glass. When working with essential oil, they can sometimes break down the plastic container and it becomes part of your blend. This in not a good combination.
Everyone has his or her way of blending essential oils. I was trained to blend the essential oils first and then add them to the carrier oils. Add one oil to the next until you've blended them all together, then add them to the carrier oils. This is a blend of primarily middle and top notes
Store your blend in a dark place for 24 hours before using it. This particular body oil blend is thought to be one for uplifting your spirits as well as balancing mood swings.
You can also take the essential oils mentioned in the blend above and use them to scent a body wash or a body spray mist.
