This time out, I have the latest from Shelly Laurenston, Big Bad Beast (Brava, received from publisher). In this latest installment in her shifter series, Dee-Ann Smith meets her match in her boss, Ric Van Holtz. The pair teams up to find out if a member of one of the packs is capturing hybrids for dogfights, and Ric sees his chance to put the moves on the sexy wolf he's wanted for ages. Dee-Ann knows he's trouble, but she can't seem to resist him when he out-maneuvers her time after time, making her want what he's offering. If you've read a Laurenston before, you know you're in for a wild, hot ride, filled with laugh-out-loud moments in a terrific story. You won't be disappointed by this addition to the series. If you haven't read anything by Shelly Laurenston before, you really should start with the earlier books, just for a point of reference when you meet the secondary characters sprinkled throughout this story. Ric is smart, smart enough to figure out how to win his wolf, and smart enough to know when she needs a little room to figure out her next move, knowing all the while he'll be there waiting when she does. Dee-Ann is funny, though not my favorite heroine in the series, and her enormous southern family will make you laugh, too. I do have to say, though, I absolutely adore the Van Holtz heroes, including Ric's uncle Van, who is one of my very favorite. They are some of the sexiest Laurenston has written. Her shifter stories are a guaranteed great read, peppered with so much humor anyone in the room with you while you're reading may want to join in on the amusement. I'm borrowing four of Cupid's five arrows for this one.
Until next time, happy reading!
