This time out, I have Make Mine a Bad Boy (Grand Central, received from publisher) by Katie Lane. This is her second 'Bramble, Texas' story, this time with Hope Scroggs having returned to her small Texas hometown in time for the man she intended to marry to walk down the aisle with the sister she never knew she had. Colt Lomax wouldn't mind consoling her, especially since they already had one sexy night together, and he'd very much like a second. Or a third.... But one night might lead to something neither of them planned on, though Colt wouldn't mind a bit if he had a little leverage to keep Hope right where she is. This is very much a small-town, with a lot of noisy neighbors and busybodies, not to mention a boisterous family. Unfortunately, there was far too much of those for my liking, I'm afraid. I'm sure there are small towns just like it, but I don't necessarily want to read about them, no matter how sexy the bad boy hero might be. My biggest problem with this one, however, is that I didn't like Hope. Even by the end of this one, she wasn't someone I wanted to root for, or chat with. Colt is lovely, though. I'm only borrowing two and a half of Cupid's five arrows for this one.
Until next time, happy reading!
