Quilt Fabric Manufacturers

The basic fundamental of quilting in the very first instance was of “making do”. Using and reusing any fabrics that were available and to hand to make, mend and reuse. Quilt museums the world over are brimming with beautiful handmade quilts that were made with fabrics that were originally made for things other than quilts – clothing, bedding, storing food and so on.

Whilst we still like to use and reuse fabrics, the modern day world of the quilter is all about wonderful new fabrics with the most amazing designs and colours and combinations. There are just so many options out there; it’s sometimes hard to choose.

I thought it might be useful for you to enter the world of fabric design and visit some of the quilt fabric manufacturer’s websites to see what is happening in the world of quilt fabric design. These websites not only offer a look at the current trends, but also what’s coming up in the next seasons. Another benefit of these websites is that it allows the identification of fabric, for matching purposes.

Also, if you have the time to browse, there’s a plethora of information about their designers, their design studios and lots of other interesting stuff. I hope you enjoy browsing this group of websites.
