Comments: The Jaqueline Dress is a lovely update to what traditionally is a boring shirt dress. The first thing that attracted me to this dress was the intense color. The next was the origami loops on the bodice -- so pretty.
Even though the shell and the lining are both rayon they could not be more different fabric. Both are incredibly soft to touch but the shell has a matte finish to it and does not stretch while the lining is more of a light stretch jersey. Both fabrics are lightweight making them perfect for summer but providing enough coverage that you ca cannot see through them in sunlight.
Not surprising to me, both the dress and the reversed lining have excellent stitching. The lining is securely attached to shell along the buttoned edges at the front and up along collar. It is free flowing along the back of the skirt -- I expected it to ride up underneath but I did not have an issue with it.
The dress arrived slightly wrinkled and needed to be steamed. I did notice some wrinkling throughout the day but nothing beyond normal wear or unsightly.
As for pricing, it is in range with other dresses that Igigi offers but for a "shirt dress" regardless of embellishments I think it is a bit high. Speaking of embellishments, my only complaint about the style is the lack of embellishment on the lower half of the dress. It just doesn't measure up to the top. I wish it had a ruffle attached around the bottom to provide balance.
Satisfaction: High! The Jaqueline dress is comfortable, fashionable and a truly awesome color (I am a bit biased as it is a favorite color). Overall it is a beautiful day dress. I am glad to see that over the last four years Igigi has maintained their quality and standard of workmanship.
