This time out, I have Loretta Chase's Silk is for Seduction
(Avon, received from publisher). Marcelline Noirot and her sisters have been hard at work to become the most sought-after dressmakers in London, and Marcelline has set her sights on the soon-to-be-bride of the Duke of Clevedon, a young lady who is quite the opposite of a fashion plate. As for the duke himself, well, Marcelline can handle him. Perhaps. Clevedon is as much a rake as Marcelline is an accomplished liar and skilled seamstress, and, while he knows his intended bride will make the perfect duchess, he knows he wants Marcelline in his bed and he will have her. Marcelline is mistaken in thinking she can handle a man like him, mistaken in believing she can resist him and herself. But she has her family to think of and support, so protecting her heart, if not her body, is her first priority. But those hearts are tricky things, always wanting to do their own thing. I adore Loretta Chase's books. They're filled with humor and fantastic characters, not to mention the steamy encounters between heroes and heroines who are completely unsuitable. She is a fabulous storyteller, and if you love historical romances and haven't yet read her, you need to do so right now! This one has earned four and a half of Cupid's five arrows.
Until next time, happy reading!
