Luckily, the reading is a good escape from work stress, and even better is finding a terrific new series. J.D. Tyler's Primal Law (Signet, purchased) kicks off her 'Alpha Pack' series, with shifter Jaxon Law part of a team of ex-SEALs whose mission is to save the world from dangers most people can't begin to imagine. Kira Locke has just taken something her former employer wants back very desperately, and luckily, Jax is there just in time to save her from certain death. Kira can barely imagine the things her ex-employers were planning to do, and finding out that things like shifters exist is really a bit much for her. But the sexy shifter knows she's still in danger, so they have to team up to find out exactly what's going on, and the closer they get, the more danger they're in. I quite enjoyed Jax, with his physical and psychological wounds, not to mention his very interesting abilities. This team of wolves is going to make for a fabulous series, though I'm disappointed we have to wait till next spring for the second installment in it. Jax is a seriously sexy shifter, with all the issues any human man might have, plus a few extra because of his abilities. Kira is a good match for him, with her innate strength and determination to do what's right, no matter what the danger to herself. This one is hot, and oh, so much fun to read. I'm borrowing four and a half of Cupid's five arrows for this one.
Until next time, happy reading!
