What has this got to do with quilting I hear you asking? Well, I came across a simply wonderful Periodic Table for Sewing Elements on The Scientific Seamstress Blog written by Carla Hegeman Crim. Here’s the link to her blog:

You need to scroll down a bit, past the wonderful photographs of her fabulous sewing room. These pictures are the epitome of the “organized mind – organized sewing room”. I am in awe of the tidiness of this room Carla.
Anyway, once you get to the periodic table of Sewing Elements, you can see that Carla has used the initials of the Chemical table, but has substituted sewing terms. It’s very clever.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I contacted Carla and she has given me her permission to go one step further and develop my own Periodic Table of Quilting Elements.
I’ve had to save it in PDF, otherwise it would take a week to load. Here it is.
