Hello, and welcome back! Along with the official start of autumn, we're actually getting the fall weather, too, which is a nice change. I had hoped to see some pretty leaves soon, too, but after the hot, dry summer we had, some of the leaves have already turned brown and simply fallen down in the rain. Too bad. But the rain now means reading time for me, though I've already had a few interviews this week. I'm still looking, but I think that one of the interviews I had will actually turn out pretty well, job-wise. We'll see.

This time out, I have the latest from Laura Griffin, Snapped (Pocket Star, received from publisher), part of her "Tracers" series. Sophie Barrett uses her lunch break from the Delphi Center to register for a college class and arrived just in time to be caught in the middle of a nightmare: a shooter is picking people off in the middle of the campus. Sophie manages to save herself and a little girl. Detective Jonah Macon is on the case, and, while he's happy Sophie's all right, he knows she's still off-limits, especially since she's one of the witnesses in his current investigation. But someone has his sights set on Sophie, and Jonah won't put her at risk, even if it means calling on his dwindling self-control around her. Sophie was great in her secondary role earlier in the series, and I liked her even better this time around. She's smart and strong, even after what happened to her previously. Jonah has wanted her for a long time, and that isn't going to go away, no matter how hard he tries to resist her and himself. I've been a big fan of Laura Griffin ever since her very first book, and she just keeps getting better. Her suspense is terrific, and the romance is fabulous, complicated and steamy, and occasionally dangerous. Jonah is one of my favorite of her heroes. I'm borrowing four and a half of Cupid's five arrows for this one and waiting anxiously for spring and the release of Twisted.

Until next time, happy reading!
