Most of the resources we use to find those who have died, can also assist us in finding information out on the living as well. Below I will list some of those resources that have helped me in discovering descendants on my lines and those I have worked for. Note that some of them have an initial page that is free, but to get more information, there is a subscription. Some want money up front.
First, I must give a word of caution. Privacy is something that is very important to most people. We do not want to stalk and invade other’s lives if they are not wanting us to reach them. Respect their privacy and be careful how you approach them. Do not call them up and immediately start giving out your entire family history and overwhelming them. Start out slow and see if they are responsive. Some may wish to not correspond or talk, and you much accept this and not invade their privacy.
Here are the resources I have found helpful in locating living individuals:
- Veromi
- Spokeo
- SkipMax
- ZabaSearch
- Classmates
- Anywho Use their Reverse Directory feature if you have a phone number and no name
- Ancestry: Use their Directories
- Social Networking Sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, BranchOut, Google Plus and many others.
